Missions

You can give to any of these ministries through the links below. If you would prefer the money to go through the church, please click the "Give Now" button on our home page and make a note when giving that the money is designated for the mission you choose.
We have a heart for missions, and support several ministries, from local to national and international.
  • We offer financial support to Secret Meals for Hungry Children, an outreach program of the Alabama Credit Union that provides food for children to take home every weekend so that they will be able to eat when they're not in school.
  • We provide space for Dickerson Literacy Initiatives, a non-profit that donates new books to local school libraries and also sponsors mission trips to Costa Rica. The trips to Costa Rica not only provides books, but also in partnership with eye doctors, provides ophthalmology care.
  • Financial support is given to Friends of IMCK (Christian Medical Institute of Kasai), a medical training institute located in the Congo. This institute makes medical care possible for people who wouldn't otherwise have it.
  • We provide needed supplies to the school nurses at several local schools.
  • One of our church members serves on the board at the Christian Service Center, and we provide food and financial support, with drives twice a year.
  • Our pastor serves on the board of Family Promise of Baldwin County, and we are a host church for that ministry.
  • We have an annual fish fry to help support the Presbyterian Home for Children in Talladega.
  • We provide lunches several times a year for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Gulf Shores High School.
  • There are links below to several of the organizations we support, or feel free to message the church for more information.

Secret Meals for Hungry Children

Picture
Many children in Alabama rely heavily on free and reduced breakfasts and lunches five days a week. However, the weekend creates a nutritional gap leaving many children hungry when they return to school on Monday. Secret Meals fills the gap these children experience by discreetly slipping into their backpack, on Fridays, vitamin-fortified and nutritional meals.
Alabama Credit Union created the Secret Meals For Hungry Children program in 2008 with one goal in mind - decreasing the number of children in Alabama and Florida facing hunger over the weekend. To allow as many children to receive food packs as possible, Alabama Credit Union provides all promotional and operational funding for the Secret Meals program, meaning 100 percent of every penny donated goes toward the purchase of food packs.

Friends of IMCK

One Great Hour of Sharing
The Friends of IMCK  was organized to support the work of the Institut Médical Chrétien du Kasai (IMCK) located     in Tshikaji, Democratic Republic of Congo.  Founded in 1954, IMCK – consisting of the Good Shepherd Hospital,       clinics, and nursing schools – provides vital services to the people in this region.  Good Shepherd Hospital is           rated as one of the top hospitals in DR Congo.  Read more about the great work of IMCK.
A key component of our support efforts is the establishment of a permanent IMCK Endowment Fund whose
proceeds will help stabilize the operating income for IMCK.  The struggle to remain solvent in a very
challenging environment is ongoing.  The Christian witness IMCK provides to patients, students and staff is inspirational and critically needed for the spiritual health of the community they serve.
